Bio note
Olia Khokhlova (1977) is the director of the Children’s Theatre “Kukli” and a laureate poet with four published volumes of poetry. She has won the prizes “A. Akhmatova” (2009) and the Youth Prize “Young Petersburg” (2010). She is a member of the Writers’ Union of Saint Petersburg and the Union of Russian Writers. Her work has already been translated into English, Spanish, Polish, Arabian, French, and Italian.
Residency goals
During her residency Olia Khokhlova wishes to get in touch with Bulgarian writers whom she could translate into Russian, and to continue working on her present project,
The North is the South – a bilingual book of poetry in Russian and Spanish, written and translated in collaboration with Argentinian poet Eugenio López Arriazu.
