Milena Selimi (Albania)

Bio note

Milena Selimi translates from Bulgarian, Italian, Macedonian, Serbian and Croatian and is the author of the novel Nata e një Gruaje and the poetry anthology Muzgu binjak me endrren. She has translated Мисия Лондон by Alek Popov and Възвишение by Milen Ruskov. In 2010 she became the first scholarship holder of the Traduki residency program in Split "Marko Marulić". In 2019 she was awarded by Eurodram for her translations of Dejan Dukovski and Tena Štivičić. Selimi actively attends forums and pannels on journalism, translation and drama with Traduki, Translator in Residence Program - Sarajeve, Novi Sad, European Theatre Prize, Ballkan Media Magazine, Festivali Poeteka, etc.

In 2019 she is a translator-in-residence at the Sofia Literature and Translation House as part of its cooperation with the Traduki programme.

Residency goals

Her residency stay in Sofia was dedicated to the translation of the novel Физика на тъгата by Georgi Gospodinov into Albanian.
