Bio note
Leonie Hodkevitch
is a writer, cultural producer, journalist and university lecturer. Her first book of short stories
Нощна езда през гората was written in Bulgarian in the 90s, followed by a short-story collection
Солено (2011) and her debut novel
Щаделбауер (
Stadlbauer), published in Bulgarian and German and promoted by the Austrian press as one of the most important "shady" novels of 2017.
In 2019 she is a writer-in-residence at the Sofia Literature and Translation House as part of its cooperation with the Traduki programme.
Residency goals
Hodkevitch's
residency stay in Sofia will be dedicated to the translation of the novel
Everything Happens as it Does by Albena Stambolova into German.
