Bio
Maryia Lappo is an editor, writer, journalist and a researcher of the novels of the famous Belarusian writer Uladzimir Karatkievich. She worked for the 'Culture' channel of the Belarusian Radio, where she prepared interviews and reports with Belarusian cultural figures.
In 2014, with the support of the Belarusian PEN Center, Maryia published her debut book 'Сплошная среда'.
In 2020 Maria publishes the work 'Lenin Releases a Seagull from His Hands' - a mixture of a diary and a poetic phantasmagoria about which she says: 'In fact, this text is not about Lenin, but about finding a home within oneself. And in general, this is not text, but animation in sound.' The work is available

Residency goals
During her stay in residence in Sofia, Maryia will be working on the non-fiction narrative about her life in Sofia while she was studying at Sofia University.
