American publisher, poet and translator Dennis Maloney meets his Bulgarian colleague Vladimir Levchev to talk about (translated) poetry and how it is published in the USA, what determines editorial decisions and is there an audience for poetry. A discussion about the role of marketing and politics, and the main publications, festivals and prizes that mark a poetic career.

Dennis Maloney is on a short-term residency at the Sofia Literature and Translation House. His poetry collection Michelangelo’s Prisoners, translated into Bulgarian by Tsveta Sofronieva and published by Fo Publishing, will be presented on May 26 in Fox Book Cafe.
