(JPG) Mossadegh Era: Roots of the Iranian Revolution by Sepehr Zabih, translated into Arabic by Sakhr Hajj Hussein for Cadmus Publishers in Syria and supported by South-South Translations Program of the Arabooks project.

The Mossadegh Era: Roots Of The Iranian Revolution, the latest addition in the South-South Translations collection, is an informed study of recent Iranian history, focusing on the rise and fall of revolutionary leader, Dr. Mohammad Mossadegh. Mossadegh, best known as the architect of Iranian nationalism and symbol of anti-imperialism led a short but crucial era in contemporary Iranian politics considered the prelude to the Iranian revolution in 1979. Zabih’s sober and insightful political analysis of the uprisings, power and personality struggles, draconian political measures and ultimate collapse of the regime, highlight repercussions that reverberate in later governments both in Iran and beyond. Translation of The Mossadegh Era enables the Arab reader to better understand this important chapter in the history of neighboring Iran.
