About:
Andreas Tretner is a professional translator of poetry and prose from Bulgarian, Russian and  Czech into German. He has translated from Bulgarian works of Yordan Radichkov, Peyo Yavorov, Viktor Paskov, Dimitar Korudjiev, Ivan Radoev and Hristo Karastoyanov. He has won  a number of  literary awards, including Leipziger Buchpreis zur Europäischen Verständigung (1998), Paul-Celan-Preis (2001), Internationalen Literaturpreis of Haus der Kulturen der Welt (Berlin, 2011), Zuger Übersetzer Anerkennungspreis (2015).

During his residency in Sofia, he will be working on new translations of Alexander Vutimski into German

During his residency in Sofia, he will be mentoring (together with Fedya Filkova-Kantcheva) a professional workshop for literary translators and will have professional meetings with Bulgarian colleagues.
