The program aims at intensifying the literary exchange within Southeastern Europe as well as between Southeastern Europe and the German-speaking countries. Based in Sofia (Bulgaria), the program in 2017 will grant three fellowships for writers and literary translators for one-month creative residency stay. The program provides opportunities for working on a writing project or on a literary translation, for establishing new con-tacts with Bulgarian colleagues and for communicating with audiences. The host organi-sation also provides its residents with access to libraries and research centres, along with the possibility of getting to know the cultural life of Sofia, of meeting key figures, cultural organizations and publishers.
The program welcomes proposals from:
The residential positions offered are for the following months August (1 - 31), Septem-ber (1 - 30) and October (1 - 31). Please note that only one person can reside per month.

The accommodation at the disposal of the selected residents is an attic room with facilities at the premises of the Literature and Translation House, the former home of a promi-nent Bulgarian painter.
